Barbershop logo redesign

Client: Tony’s

Tony’s Barber Shop is a traditional barbershop that has been in business for over 60 years. It is a family-owned business, passed down from generation to generation, and is a staple in the local community. The barbershop is known for its classic barbershop haircuts, traditional hot lather shaves, and old-fashioned service. Tony’s Barber Shop values quality over quantity, and the barbers take their time to ensure that each customer leaves looking and feeling their best.

Research and Analysis

Tony’s Barber Shop is a traditional barbershop that has been in business for over 60 years. As the client wanted to modernize its image while retaining its heritage, I conducted market research and explored various design directions.

Sketching and Ideation

After the research phase, I started sketching and brainstorming ideas. We decided on a classic barber but old style looking with straight blade and scissors as the main element of the logo, which represents the barbershop’s heritage while giving it a fresh, contemporary feel. We also selected a color scheme to represent the barbershop’s ideas and above all make it respresent him and how he saw his old logo but with a twist of new.

Refinement and Finalization

We refined the design, selecting a clean, serif font for the text and placing it beneath the barber name to emphasize the barbershop’s name and make it easy to read. We also stylized with the straight blade and scissors to give it a modern twist.

Color Selection

After much consideration and exploration of various color schemes, we decided to go with a simple, single-color scheme consisting of a warm, light brown color. The brown color was selected for several reasons.

First, brown is a timeless and classic color that is often associated with tradition, stability, and reliability. These are all qualities that are essential to Tony’s Barber Shop, which has been in business for over 60 years and is known for its traditional and reliable service.

Second, the warm, light brown color we selected has a natural and earthy feel, which is also associated with the barbershop’s values of quality and authenticity. It evokes a sense of comfort, warmth, and familiarity, which is essential in creating a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for customers.

Finally, the simplicity of the single-color scheme ensures that the logo is easily recognizable and versatile. It can be used in a variety of applications and media, both in print and digital, without losing its impact or clarity.

Final Deliverables

The final deliverables of the Tony’s Barber Shop logo design project included a variety of file formats and materials for the client to use across a range of applications.

The primary deliverable was the final logo design in various file formats, including vector files in EPS, SVG, and AI formats, and raster files in JPEG and PNG formats. These files were provided in color and black-and-white versions, as well as in different sizes and resolutions, to ensure maximum versatility and compatibility for the client’s needs.

In addition to the logo files, I also provided the client with a style guide or brand guidelines document. This document outlines the appropriate use of the logo and provides guidelines for typography, color, and other visual elements that will ensure brand consistency across all applications.

Outcome

The new logo design is simple, timeless, and memorable, and communicates the barbershop’s values of quality, tradition, and customer service. It has been well-received by both the client and their customers and has helped to modernize the barbershop’s image while retaining its heritage.
