Project Summary

In this case study, we will be examining the UX and UI design process for an Indonesian street food restaurant. The goal of the project is to improve the overall user experience for customers and increase business for the restaurant.

Discovery

During the discovery phase, we conducted research on the current state of the restaurant’s website and mobile app, as well as the experiences of customers who had visited the restaurant. This included conducting surveys and interviews with customers, as well as analyzing the restaurant’s website and mobile app to identify any pain points or areas for improvement.

The Problem

Based on the research, we identified several problems with the current design of the restaurant’s website. These included:

  • Confusing navigation: Customers reported difficulty finding the information they were looking for on the website and mobile app.
  • Lack of visual appeal: The current design of the website and mobile app was deemed unappealing by customers.

  1. Low website engagement: The confusing navigation and lack of visual appeal resulted in low engagement on the website.
  2. Low sales: The limited menu options and lack of information about ingredients resulted in low sales.
  3. Low customer loyalty: The poor user experience resulted in a lack of customer loyalt

Goals

Based on the problems identified, our goals for the project were to:

  1. Improve the overall user experience for customers on the website.
  2. Increase engagement on the website
  3. Increase sales.
  4. Increase customer loyalty.
Design Process
  • Define the users and their goals – We defined the target users as customers who are looking for information about the restaurant and its menu options. Their goals included finding information about the restaurant, menu options, and ingredients used in the dishes.
  • Create user personas – We created user personas based on the target users to help guide the design process.
  • Conduct a competitive analysis – We conducted a competitive analysis to see how other similar restaurants were approaching their website and mobile app design.
  • Create a design concept – We created a design concept based on the research and analysis conducted in the previous steps.
  • Create wireframes and prototypes – We created wireframes and prototypes of the website and mobile app to test the design concept with users.
  • Conduct user testing – We conducted user testing to gather feedback on the wireframes and prototypes.
  • Iterate on the design – We made changes to the design based on the feedback gathered during user testing.
  • Develop and launch the website and mobile app – We developed and launched the new website
